WELCOME
Set in its own beautiful grounds within Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park, Kings has been providing accommodation and a warm welcome to guests since 1937.
Kings is now only available for Exclusive hire. So you will have the whole place to yourselves!

For your peace of mind, the accommodation is always deep cleaned between contactless check out and check in.
​
Contactless check in is from 16:00 and contactless check out is by 10:00.
​
There are large bedrooms, bathrooms, comprehensive self catering facilities, a comfy lounge, spacious dining room and plenty of space for you to enjoy.
​
Kings boasts extensive private grounds. The garden is suitable for sports, bonfires, barbeques and even a refreshing dip in our spectacular mountain stream!

What to expect
Kings is in a wonderfully rural location.
The hostel accommodation is basic, safe, very clean, warm, tidy and welcoming. A perfect base for relaxation and adventure. Not a luxury hotel...
Technology
Free wifi in communal areas
The only available mobile network is EE
There is a payphone for social calls.
There is no television or DVD player.

Access
The road to the hostel is narrow and steep. We recommend no vehicle larger than a 24 seat minibus.
We can provide a full access statement upon request.
Housekeeping
We will provide all your bedding and bed linen.
Please bring your own towels and toiletries.
Please clean as you go, leaving the hostel as you found it.
Catering
Kings has excellent self catering facilities.
You will find great local places to eat out in Penmaenpool, Dolgellau and Barmouth.
Pets
Sorry, no pets, including in vehicles in the car parks.
Kings is within a Site of Special Scientific Interest with an array of outstanding wildlife. Not to mention our local sheep and chickens!

Cader Idris
Climb to the summit of this magnificent mountain and admire
the views across Snowdonia.
You can access both the Pony and Fox's path straight from our front door!
Coed y Brenin
This fascinating forest, world famous for it's superb mountain bike trails, is 10 minutes away by car.
Kings has a great bike shed for storing your own bikes or you can hire locally.
Mawddach Trail
Join this beautiful walk and cycle route directly from the hostel. Journey alongside the spectacular Mawddach estuary and over the iconic railway bridge into Barmouth Harbour.
Adrenaline Attractions
Climbing, abseiling, exploring caverns, canyoning, coasteering, sailing, kayaking, white water rafting, zip lining, pony trekking and even surfing can all be organised locally.
The national White Water Centre and Zip World are very popular.
Beautiful Sandy Beaches
Our nearest perfect sandy beach is 15 minutes away (by car) at Fairbourne.
On the other side of the estuary, you will find Barmouth. Miles of sandy beaches, an interesting old harbour, shops, mini funfair, arcade and fish, chips and ice cream galore.
Heritage & History
Snowdonia is steeped in history. The UNESCO World Heritage Site of Harlech Castle is about 40 minutes away up the coast. Other local places of interest include: Portmeirion Village, Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways and Corris Craft Centre.
